" It's all about training smart" - Tyson Gay

I consider myself a very coachable person, and have learned to be so as a result of having many coaches for various sports and track events. What has made me so adaptable I believe is the way in which I accept new perspectives and implement them into what I have already learned. Until this recent season, I have learned that hard work comes without question; but staying injury-free is what will allow me to stay healthy. This will ultimately allow me to express the efforts I have made into the sport by being able to perform. My training takes place on the track, in the weight room, and in the classrooms of The Canadian Sports School of Northern BC.

Canadian Sport School

I became enrolled in the Canadian Sports School here in Prince George, BC following my 2012 season as a way to be able to permanently migrate into town. As PG was the location of the track club PG Track and Field, who I had been training with, it was a smooth transition.

At the Sports School, I receive my strength and power programs that have, since my start at Sports School been vital to achieving my current condition. On top of physical improvements, the Sport School also has taught me mental skills and techniques through its varying tutorials. Learning how to remain calm and control nerves during stressful situations have been great concepts I've been able to extract from these tutorials. Other tutorials include nutrition and basic sports anatomy, such as the functions of energy systems of the body, that of which I've too found very interesting.
